Silent Night - song lyrics

Silent Night

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, All is bright
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child
Holy Infant so Tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight!
Glories stream from heaven afar;
Heavenly hosts sing Al-le-lu-ia!
Christ the Saviour is born!
Christ the Saviour is born!

Silent night, holy night!
Wondrous star, lend thy light!
With the angels let us sing
Alleluia to our King!
Christ the Saviour is here,
Jesus the Saviour is here!

Silent night, Holy night!
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord at thy birth;
Jesus Lord at thy birth.

Jingle Bells - Song Lyrics

Jingle Bells

Dashing through the snow
On a one-horse open sleigh,
Over the fields we go,
Laughing all the way;
Bells on bob-tail ring,
Making spirits bright,

Oh what fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight....

Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh

A day or two ago,
I thought I'd take a ride,
And soon Miss Fanny Bright
Was seated by my side;
The horse was lean and lank;
Misfortune seemed his lot;
He got into a drifted bank,
And we, we got upsot....

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

A day or two ago,
The story I must tell
I went out on the snow
And on my back I fell;
A gent was riding by
In a one-horse open sleigh,
He laughed as there
I sprawling lie,
But quickly drove away....

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

Now the ground is white
Go it while you're young,
Take the girls tonight
And sing this sleighing song;
Just get a bob-tailed bay
Two-forty as his speed
Hitch him to an open sleigh
And crack! you'll take the lead....

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

What is Christmas?

What is Christmas? What does Christmas mean to you?

Some argue that the Christmas that we all know and love, with frantic present buying and rushing around has little to do with the true meaning of Christmas.

Here's Wikipedia's take on Christmas: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas

Christmas means something different to each of us - for some it's about remembering the birth of Christ. For others who are less religious, it's a break from work and a chance to chill out and relax with family and friends.

Christmas Gifts - Do you choose well?

How much time do you put into choosing the perfect Christmas gift?

Do you spend hours (or even months!) perusing the shops and Christmas catalogues, looking for that perfect something to present to your loved one? Putting in a little legwork can help you choose better gifts - the more thought you put into your Christmas shopping the more chance you have of choosing a good one.

Rushing around at the last minute trying to get all your Christmas presents in one trip can be a recipe for disastrous gift giving - resorting to boring 'safe' gifts like chocolate, booze or gift vouchers!

What if you hate trudging around the shops in the cold? You're not alone! Many people are now choosing to shop online for their Christmas gifts. By shopping online you can avoid the crowds, and simply curl up on the sofa with a laptop (maybe even with a glass of wine), and shop from the comfort of your home.

Another option for easier Christmas shopping is to look for Christmas catalogues - usually you can find everything you need for Christmas : not just gifts, but trees, lights, decorations, cards, wrap and much more!
